2023 CHAN Qualifiers: Annor Walker releases 35 man provisional squad

Black Stars B head coach, Annor Walker has called up thirty five players to begin preparations ahead of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers.

Ghana’s team B will face Benin in the preliminary stage of the qualifiers to the CHAN tournament which will be hosted in Algeria next year.

The squad is dominated by  Hearts of Oak players with Salifu Ibrahim, Richard Attah, Agyemang Mensah all earning call ups to the national team.

Mudasiru Salifu, Ibrahim Danlad and Ibrahim Moro are the Asante Kotoko players who have also been named in the squad to face Benin.

Teenage sensation, Clinton Duodo of Bechem United who was shockingly left of the U20 squad that went to Nigeria has also been called up. 

The winner of the tie will face Nigeria in the last round of qualifiers for a place in the expanded 18-team tournament which will be played in Algeria in January 2023.

The first leg of the preliminary round of qualifiers will take place on the weekend of July 22-24 with the return legs scheduled for a week later.

Ghana will be hoping to make it to the tournament proper after missing out the last three editions after reaching the final of the inaugural competition in 2009 and in 2014 in South Africa
