Asante Kotoko players to get $5000 each for winning the Ghana Premier League

Asante Kotoko players will each receive $5,000 for winning the Ghana Premier League title, Chief Executive Officer for the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed.

Asante Kotoko secured a record-extending 25th Ghana Premier League title on Thursday after playing out a 1-1 draw with regional rivals AshantiGold with three games to spare.

The draw was enough to secure the Porcupine Warriors’ their first Premier league title since 2014, dethroning eternal rivals Hearts of Oak, who are the current holders.

“There are so many packages for them,” Nana Yaw Amponsah said in an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM.

“A single board member has promised them five thousand dollars each. He is a man of honour and a man of his word and I know he will fulfill it. But we have a special bonus structures for the players and we are  planning a special package for them.”

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be crowned as champions of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier league season when they host Elmina Sharks at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday June 12, 2022.
