Ghana Football Association Enhances Safety Measures with Comprehensive Training for Club Security Officers

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has successfully wrapped up a vital training program aimed at bolstering safety and security in Ghanaian football. Conducted from March 7 to March 10, 2025, this extensive training was designed for Club Safety and Security Officers (CSSOs) and Regional Sports Security Officers (RSSOs) across the country.

The initiative covered all 86 elite clubs and 16 regions, divided into three zones to ensure effective participation. Zone 2 focused on clubs from the Ashanti, Western, Western North, and Central Regions, while Zones 1 and 3 encompassed the remaining regions.

Key training modules included:

-Challenges of Safety and Security in Ghana: Participants identified and addressed major safety concerns affecting football in the country.

-Roles of CSSOs and Collaboration with RSSOs: Attendees learned about the responsibilities of CSSOs and how to work effectively with their regional counterparts.

-Club Safety and Security Officer Checklist: A comprehensive checklist was provided to help CSSOs ensure all safety protocols are in place.
