" \n Ghana\u2019s AsaaseGPS goes to Lesotho \n \n\n \n AsaaseGPS Limited, a wholly owned Ghanaian software development company and a subsidiary of Afrifanom Group , has signed a partnership agreement with the Maseru Municipal Council and Future Systems Ltd to provide the capital of Lesotho a new and effective digital addressing system. \n \n\n \n This comes years after AsaaseGPS built Ghana\u2019s digital addressing system dubbed\u00a0 GhanaPostGPS, which has made it easy for places to be located in Ghana, and will soon be integrated into Google Maps to it even more effective. \n \n\n \n The Lesotho signing was attended by Her Worship the Mayor of Maseru Municipal Council- Cllr. Nthabeleng Nts\u2019asa, Lesotho\u2019s Minister of Communications, Science & Technology- Hon. Ts\u2019oinyana S. Rapapa, Minister of Education and Training- Mrs. Mamookho Phiri, as well as Chairman of Afrifanom Group, Nana Osei Afrifa, Managing Director of AsaaseGPS, Dr Elvis Baidoo and some representatives of Future Systems among other dignitaries. \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n Speaking at the signing on ceremony, Lesotho\u2019s Minister of Communication, Science and Technology, Hon. Ts\u2019oinyana S. Rapapa highlighted the government\u2019s vision to build a solid foundation to formalize the country\u2019s economy starting with a proper and effective addressing system in the Maseru Municipality and gradually spreading it to other parts of the country. \n \n\n \n He further stated that the major economic benefits for a country with a proper and effective addressing system are enormous to its people and serves as a catalyst in growing the private sector and formalizes the economy. \n \n\n \n The Minister acknowledge that Lesotho is learning from the Ghana example \u2013 of how the digital addressing system is fast driving the formalization and digitalization of the entire Ghanaian economy. \n \n\n \n Chairman of Afrifanom \u2013 Nana Osei Afrifa \n \n\n \n Commenting on the agreement, Chairman of Afrifanom Group, Nana Osei Afrifa said \u201cWe are excited to have this strategic partnership with the City Council acting on behalf of the people of Maseru. We have developed an addressing system that creates a compelling and sustainable value for the provision of accurate data to improve service delivery and assist in formulating appropriate policies which will create opportunities and accelerate growth for the city of Maseru and Lesotho as a whole. \n \n\n \n He added that \u201cWe believe that while we stay focused on our core business, leveraging on the strength of Maseru City Council and Future Systems Ltd, we would ensure scalability and integration of add-on services and compatibility with postcodes within the Maseru district and eventually help accelerate the economic development of Lesotho\u201d. \n \n\n \n Meanwhile, Her Worship the Mayor of Maseru Municipal Council, Cllr. Nthabeleng Nts\u2019asa also observed that the partnership provides many opportunities to unlock the enormous potential of the City of Maseru citing that this would improve property ownership data and bring efficiency to service delivery in the city. \n \n\n \n She noted that, \u201cThis partnership demonstrates the commitment of the Maseru Municipality towards digitalization.
