" ICUMS wins Ghana Link \u201cExcellence In Innovation and Technology Award\u201c, two others at 6 th Ghana Business Awards \r\n\r\nGhana Link Network Services Limited (Ghana Link) was honoured with the \u00a0\u201cExcellence In Innovation and Technology Award\u201c at the 6 th edition of the Ghana Business Awards for its introduction of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) at the nation\u2019s ports and borders.\r\n\r\nThe award was in recognition of the successful implementation of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) \u2013 arguably the best trade facilitation tool Ghana has ever had.\r\n\r\nThe ICUMS currently connects over 8,000 players in the trade facilitation ecosystem in a day including Freight Forwarders, Shippers, Courier Companies, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies, regulatory bodies including the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority, Environmental Protection Agency, the Ghana Standards Authority, and Oil Marketing Companies, among others.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWith the ICUMS managed by Ghana Link, it has been touted by freight forwarders, importers and exporters, port clearing agents, and the trading community at large as the best trade facilitation tool which has come to reduce the then long workflow process that existed prior to its rollout and ease of doing business at the ports in particular.\r\n\r\nIt has also come to ramp up government\u2019s revenue generated from the country\u2019s points of entry \u2013 land, air, and sea borders \u2013 especially at the seaports even at the time that cargo volumes reduced due to the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic.\r\n\r\nOn the back of the success enjoyed by the company through its deployment of the trade facilitation system, Executive Chairman of Ghana Link, Nick Danso Adjei was adjudged the \u201cEntrepreneur of the Year\u201d. \r\n\r\nThis would be the fifth time Mr Danso Adjei has been adjudged \u201cEntrepreneur of the Year\u201d having previously won the award at the 5th Ghana Shippers Awards in 2022, 5 th Ghana Business Awards, 1 st and 2 nd editions of Ghana CEO Awards and the 6 th Ghana Business Awards.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nMr Danso Adjei is the Executive Chairman of not only Ghana Link, but he has also been very successful at starting and running other businesses like the Royal Nick Hotel, the Royal Light, Nick TC Scan (Ghana and Port of Gambia), Misyl Energy BDC, Nick Petroleum and several other companies.\r\n\r\nManaging Director of Ghana Link, Nabali Bawa, also on the back of the success of the ICUMS, was also honoured with the Outstanding Leadership Award (Private Sector) for his contributions towards the success of ICUMS and Ghana Link.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Ghana Business Awards is a prestigious awards programme that recognizes and rewards excellence across all sectors in Ghana.
