The IMF projected growth for 2024 at just 4 percent, compared to 3.6 percent in 2016\u2014this is merely marginal growth,\u201d he stated.\r\n\r\nInflation, Debt, and Exchange Rate ConcernsDr. Kwakye highlighted inflation as a major concern, noting that Ghana\u2019s inflation rate, as reported by the Ghana Statistical Service, stood at 23.5% in January 2024\u2014a significant increase from 15.2% in 2016. He attributed inflationary pressures to cedi depreciation, rising government debt, and supply chain disruptions.\r\n\r\n\u201cInflation for January is said to be 23.5 percent, and it was 15.2 percent in 2016. Public debt to GDP is now 72 percent as of November 2024, compared to 58 percent in 2016.
