" MTN bosses get millions of rands worth of shares, but Ghana CEO missing \r\nExecutives at MTN Group have received millions of rand in shares as part of the telecommunications firm\u2019s performance share plan.\r\n\r\nThe shares awarded will vest in three years\u2019 time.\r\n\r\nMTN disclosed the share awards on 29 December by way of a JSE stock exchange I news service notification to investors.\r\n\r\nIt said the Group CEO and President,\u00a0 Ralph Mupita , was awarded 321,077 shares under the scheme at a market value of R36.9-million based on a share price of R115. The shares will vest in December 2026, subject to conditions.\r\n\r\nGroup Senior Vice President for Markets , Ebenezer Asante\u00a0 got 206,556 shares worth R23.8-million. Eben Asante also got an additional allocation of 41,300 shares worth R5.4-million, correcting an \u201comission\u201d in the previous financial year\u2019s allocation.\r\n\r\nOther senior figures in MTN included in December\u2019s share awards are:\r\n \r\n \t Group chief financial officer Tsholofelo Molefe:\u00a0 171,738 shares worth R19.7-million. \r\n \t Outgoing \u00a0group chief operating officer Jens Schulte-Bockum: \u00a0212,614 shares worth R24.5-million. \r\n \t Group chief human resources officer Paul Norman: \u00a086,431 shares worth R9.9-million. \r\n \t MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola: \u00a0108,375 shares worth R12.5-million. \r\n \t MTN South Africa CEO Charles Molapisi: 144\u00a0529 shares worth R16.6-million. \r\n \t Group chief risk officer Ferdi Moolman: \u00a098\u00a0635 shares worth R11.3-million. \r\n \t MTN South Africa chief financial officer Dineo Molefe: \u00a051\u00a0174 shares worth R5.9-million. \r\n \t Group chief technology and information officer Mazen Mroue: \u00a0125\u00a0249 shares worth R14.4-million. \r\n \t Company secretary Thobeka Sishuba-Bonoyi: 32\u00a0412 shares worth R3.7-million. \r\n \t MTN South Africa company secretary Mateboho Rantofi: \u00a015 693 shares worth R1.8-million. \r\n \r\n Ghana CEO Missing \r\nConspicuously missing on the list of beneficiaries is MTN Ghana CEO, Selorm Adadevoh, who has now been promoted to the position of Group Chief Commercial Officer, beginning June this year.\r\n\r\nUnder Selorm\u2019s leadership MTN Ghana saw skyrocketing profits, to the extent that even the Group President and CEO described Ghana as the \u201cjewel in MTN\u2019s crown\u201d. Indeed, Selorm was recently adjudged the best CEO in the MTN Group.\r\n\r\nIt is rather ironic that Selorm\u2019s counterparts in Nigeria and South Africa, as well as even some non-CEOs in South Africa got shares but Selorm did not."
