" \n MTN to close service centers amid covid-19 omicron surge \n \n\n \n Telecom giant MTN, has announced the closure of its offices and customer service centers across the country from 29th December, 2021 to January 3rd, 2022. \n \n\n \n The move is part of the company's measures to stem the spread of the covid-19 pandemic and the increasing spread of the omicron virus. \n \n\n \n \u201cThe closure of the Service Centres is part of broader measures taken by the business to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic especially in the wake of the new Omicron variant, which has been proven to have a higher transmissibility rate,\u201d MTN said in a statement. \n \n\n \n The Chief Customer Care Officer, Jemima Kotei Walsh, noted that, customers should make use of their digital platforms during the period, although their field teams made up of retail vendors and MoMo agents across the country will be operating and providing additional support. \n \n\n \n \u201cThe business will use this opportunity to encourage customers to use our digital channels during the period of the closure of the shops. \n \n\n \n Read: Cedi depreciates 9% on retail market \n \n\n \n \u201cThe channels include the company\u2019s Official Social Media Handles namely; Twitter: @MTNGhana or @AskMTNGhana; Facebook: MTNGhana, WhatsApp:0554300000 and 0555300000.
