" PRESEC-Legon Gifted State-Of-The-Art AI Lab By 1999 Year Group \r\n\r\nThe Presbyterian Boys\u2019 Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon) has marked its 86th anniversary with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab.\r\n\r\nThe facility, spearheaded by the school\u2019s 1999 Year Group in collaboration with the administration, alumni president Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, and corporate sponsors, is set to revolutionize STEM education in Ghana.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe launch of the state-of-the-art AI Lab took place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, during the prestigious school\u2019s Speech and Prize-Giving Day celebrations at the PRESEC campus in Legon, Accra.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_119130\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"720\"] Old Students of PRESEC-Legon at the AI Lab Launch[\/caption]\r\n\r\n Transforming STEM Education in Ghana \r\n\r\nThe President of the 1999 Year Group, Wonder Madilo, described the initiative as a transformative milestone in STEM education, aligning with Ghana\u2019s national priority of digitalization.\r\n\r\nThe AI Lab branded the Odadee 99 eXperience Center , seeks to prepare students for global digital transformation by equipping them with cutting-edge skills in robotics, machine learning, and AI research.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRichard Ansong, the project\u2019s Finance & Communication Chair and a partner at PwC Ghana emphasized the lab\u2019s focus on bridging the gap between academic curricula and industry requirements by blending technical expertise with essential soft skills.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_119131\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"750\"] Bright Simons at the Launch of the AI Lab[\/caption]\r\n\r\n A First in West Africa \r\n\r\nThe AI Lab is believed to be the first purpose-built facility of its kind for secondary schools in West Africa.\r\n\r\nDesigned to be solar-powered and meet green certification standards, the lab will feature computing arrays, robotics setups, design studios, and lecture spaces, empowering students to lead in Ghana\u2019s digital transformation.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Sustainability and Future Vision \r\n\r\nAt the handover ceremony, the 1999 Year Group plans to announce additional sustainability measures to ensure the lab\u2019s long-term impact.
