President Mahama Nominates Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Finance Minister-Designate with others
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister-designate for Finance, signaling his intent to reshape the nation’s economic management team.
This is per a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President.
According to the President’s Spokesperson, John Abdulai Jinapor has also been named as Minister-designate for Energy, while Dominic Akuritinga Ayine is nominated for the position of Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
The nominees are expected to undergo vetting and approval by Parliament before assuming their respective roles.
Dr. Forson, a former Deputy Finance Minister, is widely regarded for his fiscal expertise and public finance management experience.
Mr Jinapor, previously a Deputy Minister for Power, played a pivotal role in addressing Ghana’s energy challenges in the erstwhile Mahama administration while Mr Ayine, a respected legal scholar and former Deputy Attorney General, brings a wealth of knowledge to the Justice Ministry.
Observers view these appointments as a strategic move to consolidate President Mahama’s governance agenda ahead of crucial policy implementations.
