" Red Bull reveal new car RB19 for the 2023 Formula 1 season \r\n\r\nRed Bull have kicked off their 2023 season by unveiling a launch version of the RB19, the car the Milton Keynes outfit hope will enable them to defend both F1 world titles.\r\n\r\nRed Bull assembled in New York on Friday for a so-called \u2018season launch\u2019, with Team Principal Christian Horner present to oversee proceedings alongside full-time racers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, and third driver Daniel Ricciardo.\r\n\r\nThe team showcased their 2023 look with the traditional blue, yellow and red scheme \u2013 which captures the Red Bull company\u2019s core colours.\r\n\r\nHowever, Horner revealed that Red Bull will stage a competition for fans to design a special livery for the three races held in the United States this year \u2013 with Miami and Austin to be joined by a new Las Vegas event.\r\n\r\nRed Bull head into the 2023 campaign looking to retain the drivers\u2019 and constructors\u2019 titles, having stormed to 17 wins from 22 races under the 2022 rules reset \u2013 15 scored by reigning double world champion Verstappen.\r\n\r\nSpeaking at the launch, Horner commented: \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly special to be in the Big Apple, in the US, in New York. The US is playing such a big role in F1 these days \u2013 three Grands Prix, [with] Las Vegas coming onto the calendar as well \u2013 so it seemed only fitting to unveil the RB19, and our plans for the season ahead, here.\u201d\r\n\r\nThose plans include the start of a new relationship with American manufacturer Ford, who will work with Red Bull\u2019s Powertrains division to develop a turbo-hybrid power unit for the recently-agreed 2026 engine regulations.\r\n\r\nAs for Red Bull\u2019s 2023 on-track expectations, Horner continued: \u201cIt\u2019s going to be an incredible season. Our rivals, for sure, haven\u2019t stood still. We\u2019re expecting Ferrari to be competitive, Mercedes are going to be there, [and] there\u2019s some other teams that could well make some big progress as well.\r\n\r\nRed Bull enter 2023 looking to defend both F1 world titles for the first time since 2014\r\n\r\n\u201cThis time of year, it\u2019s all a big unknown, and it\u2019s a question of focusing on ourselves, doing the best we can. Then in Bahrain, in a couple of weeks\u2019 time, we\u2019ll get to see everybody\u2019s car and we\u2019ll realise, \u2018Have we missed something? Have we not?\u2019\r\n\r\n\u201cThen we set off on this 23-race journey between March and November. There\u2019s going to be highs and lows along the way, I\u2019m sure, but I think we\u2019re in a good place and looking to carry on that momentum from last year.\u201d\r\n\r\nAs Horner alluded to, Red Bull\u2019s new car \u2013 and the machines created by their nine F1 rivals \u2013 will take to the track for pre-season testing in Bahrain from February 23-25, followed by the opening round at the same Sakhir venue a week later.\r\n\r\n "
