" Stephen Blewett appointed CEO of MTN Ghana \r\nThe\u00a0MTN Group\u00a0has appointed\u00a0Stephen Blewett\u00a0as chief executive officer of MTN Ghana.\r\n\r\nHe takes over from\u00a0Selorm Adadevoh who has been re-assigned as chief commercial officer of the MTN Group with effect from March 2024.\r\n\r\nBlewett re-joined MTN in July 2023 as the operations executive for markets, with executive responsibility for the group\u2019s smaller West and Central Africa markets and for providing broader operations support across that region to the group\u2019s senior vice president for markets.\r\n\r\nPrior to that, he was chief operating officer of Digicel. Before that, he spent seven years at MTN in the role of CEO for MTN Benin and then MTN Cameroon.\r\n\r\n\u201cWe welcome Stephen into the MTN Ghana family and look forward to working with him to move the company forward to achieve our Ambition 2025 strategy and beyond,\u201d MTN Ghana board chairman, Ishmael Yamson.\r\n About Stephen Blewett \r\nStephen Blewett brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having most recently served as the Group chief operating officer of Digicel, based in Kingston, Jamaica.\r\n\r\nIn this role, he oversaw 20 country CEOs and spearheaded key areas such as marketing, information and technology, procurement, financial services, gaming, and digital media.\r\n\r\nPrior to his tenure at Digicel, Stephen served as CEO of MTN Cameroon, where he made significant contributions to the company\u2019s growth and success.\r\n\r\nHe had previously held similar leadership roles in the telecommunications industry, including CEO of MTN Benin and chief commercial officer at Namibian mobile operator MTC.\r\n\r\nIn 2020, he was voted MTN CEO of the Year by his peers. Stephen\u2019s career also includes notable positions such as chief executive of 3D Holdings, managing director of Autopage Cellular, marketing and sales executive at Telkom Mobile, and executive head for sales and marketing at MCell in Mozambique.\r\n\r\nStephen Blewett holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.\r\n\r\nHe is also a published author of marketing, sales, and business books, further demonstrating his expertise and thought leadership in the industry.\r\n\r\n "
