" \n Tullow Oil sees Ghana fields output at 150,000 b\/d by 2025 \n \n\n \n Tullow Oil\u00a0said on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, its Jubilee offshore oilfield in Ghana could produce 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe\/d) and the TEN field 50,000 boe\/d by 2025 under current spending plans. \n \n\n \n Tullow will spend most of its $350 million investment programme this year on Ghana, where Jubilee produced around 75,000 boe\/d in 2021 and TEN 33,000 boe\/d. Tullow holds a 35.5% stake in Jubilee and 47.2% of TEN. \n \n\n \n The company reported 2021 free cash flow of $245 million, about 43% down from the previous year and broadly in line with guidance of $250 million, and reiterated its free cash flow would reach $100 million at an oil price of US$75 a barrel. \n \n\n \n Oil prices have soared in recent months, with current benchmark contracts at around US$130 a barrel, but Tullow hedges most of its output with price floors and ceilings to shield against price volatility. \n \n\n \n \u201cHedging you have to do dispassionately, hedging isn\u2019t responding to the oil price because then it wouldn\u2019t be hedging, it would be called speculating,\u201d chief executive Rahul Dhir told Reuters. \n \n\n \n Read: INSTEPR projects crude oil price to cross $150 by April 2022 \n \n\n \n In 2021 it lost out on US$153 million in revenue due to hedges, said Tullow, which had a market capitalisation of around US$1.2 billion as of Tuesday and net debt of US$2.1 billion. \n \n\n \n Tullow is forecasting this year\u2019s overall output to reach 55,000 to 61,000 boe\/d. \n \n\n \n Of this, it hedged 42,500 bpd at an average floor of US$51 a barrel and average ceiling of US$78 a barrel and around 33,100 bpd of next year\u2019s output at US$55 and $75 a barrel, with smaller production volumes hedged into 2024. \n \n\n \n Some of its hedged price caps were as high as US$95 a barrel and if it manages to keep this level for the whole year, its free cashflow this year could reach US$200 million, chief financial officer Les Wood said. \n \n\n \n \u201cWe still retain good exposure to the upside,\u201d Wood said, adding that the average realised price after hedging so far this year was US$89 a barrel. \n \n\n \n Tullow\u2019s 2020 cashflow was boosted by the $500 million sale of its stake in Ugandan onshore oilfields to TotalEnergies. \n "
