H2 2022: Ghana rakes in $696m from oil receipts
Ghana generated $696.815m in the second half of 2022 from oil lifting, corporate tax, and other income, according to the Ghana Petroleum Funds report.
Of this, $492.186m was secured from oil lifting between July and December 2022, with five liftings taking place and the 66th Jubilee recording the highest amount at $119.83m.
Additionally, $202.55m was received as corporate tax from Tullow Oil, Kosmos, and PetroSA. Interest income accrued from the Petroleum Holding Fund was estimated at $2.07m.
A total of $191.48m was allocated as investments, bringing the total accrued petroleum investments as of December 31, 2022 to $1.06bn, including the Ghana Stabilization Fund and the Ghana Heritage Fund.
The Ghana Stabilization Fund had an estimated amount of $143.6m, with $363.76m withdrawn since Ghana began producing oil in 2011.
The Ghana Heritage Fund, as of December 2022, was made up of $918.2m.
