2023 GFA Elections: Kurt Okraku files nomination for re-election as FA President

Incumbent President Kurt Okraku has filed his nomination to contest the presidency of the Ghana Football Association.

Okraku will run for re-election for the post he currently occupies next month, ahead of the expiration of his first term in October this year.

Kurt Okraku was elected as GFA President back in October 2019, defeating George Afriyie and four other contenders.

In his address to the media after filing his nomination on Friday, August 11, the GFA boss stated that his ambition is to continue to grow Ghana football to the highest level.

“Ghana football has suffered, Ghana football has struggled but it is currently on the rise. I can assure you that Ghana football is currently in safe hands, and I am that person,” he said.

He added that he is open to ideas from other football administrators, especially those opposing him, in order to propel Ghana football to where it should be.

“Most administrators trust in my vision and we need to work together to achieve that higher height. My hands are opened to other minds to make our football better,” he said.

This year’s much-anticipated GFA’s Elective Congress has been scheduled for September 27, in Tamale at the Redaach Memorial Hotel.

According to the Election Committee of the Ghana Football Association, the election will commence at exactly 11 am.
