President-elect John Dramani Mahama Unveils Key Appointments Ahead of Swearing-In

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has announced his first set of appointments to the Office of the President, signaling the commencement of his administration’s governance agenda.

The appointees, who come from diverse professional backgrounds, are set to assume their roles following Mahama’s inauguration tomorrow, January 7, 2025.

Julius Debrah – Chief of Staff

Julius Debrah, a seasoned administrator and political strategist, will serve as Chief of Staff.

Tasked with coordinating the presidency’s operations, Debrah will play a central role in managing the President’s schedule and ensuring seamless communication between the executive and other government arms.

Augustus Goosie Tanoh – Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development

Goosie Tanoh, known for his expertise in economic policy and international trade, will lead the administration’s push for a “24-Hour Economy” while driving export growth.

His efforts aim to boost economic activity and position Ghana as a competitive player on the global stage.

Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew – Legal Counsel to the President

Former Attorney General Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew will serve as Legal Counsel to the President.

She will provide expert legal guidance on executive matters and oversee the legal framework supporting the administration’s decisions.

Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu – Acting Spokesperson to the President

Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a former Deputy Information Minister and adept communicator, has been appointed Acting Spokesperson to the President.

He will articulate the administration’s policies and programs to the public and serve as a bridge between the presidency and the media.

The appointments take effect from tomorrow, January 7, 2025, coinciding with President-elect Mahama’s inauguration.

The appointees are expected to hit the ground running as the new administration tackles pressing national issues and implements its transformational agenda.
