ICUMS Undergoes Major Upgrade; Stakeholders Advised to Expect Temporary Downtimes

Ghana Link Network Services Ltd has announced intermittent service disruptions on the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) as the platform undergoes a major upgrade. The company says the enhancement works, currently at an advanced stage, may cause reduced system responsiveness for some users throughout the day.

In a stakeholder notice dated November 18, 2025, Ghana Link acknowledged the potential inconvenience the interruptions may pose to importers, exporters, freight forwarders, government agencies, and other users of the trade facilitation system.

The company expressed regret over delays and workflow disruptions but assured the trading community of its commitment to maintaining transparent communication as the upgrade progresses.

“We fully acknowledge and deeply regret the inconvenience, delays, and disruptions this may cause to business operations,” the notice said, adding that the system enhancement is part of ongoing efforts to improve ICUMS’ operational efficiency and overall user experience.

The ICUMS platform plays a central role in Ghana’s trade facilitation ecosystem, supporting customs clearance, revenue mobilisation, and real-time monitoring of import and export processes. System downtimes—though temporary—often affect port operations and the wider trading community, making timely updates essential.

Ghana Link assured users that the upgrade is intended to strengthen system reliability and enhance service delivery once fully completed.
