Ghana Premier League 2025/26 Season Dates Announced by GFA

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season. The campaign is set to kick off on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and will conclude on May 23/24, 2026.

This timeline has been strategically aligned with the 23rd FIFA World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The GFA has ensured that all elite domestic competitions will wrap up before the global tournament begins.

In preparation for the new season, the GFA will hold a Congress on August 12, 2025, to finalize plans and confirm the league’s operational details. Matches will primarily be played on weekends, with midweek slots reserved for outstanding fixtures, maintaining the format established in the previous season.

The upcoming season presents a fresh opportunity for defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars SC to retain their title. Additionally, Techiman Eleven Wonders, Swedru All Blacks United, and Hohoe United will make their debut in the elite division after successfully qualifying from the Access Bank Division One League.
