QIC Taps Radio Legend Tommy Annan Forson to Champion “Golden Age” Motor Insurance

Quality Insurance Company Limited (QIC) has appointed celebrated broadcaster Tommy Annan Forson as brand ambassador for its Golden Age Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy, an innovative product introduced in 2023 to serve Ghana’s Baby Boomer generation.

The endorsement agreement, was signed on behalf of QIC by the Head of Human Resource and Administration, Mavis Mensa.

It aims to position Mr. Annan-Forson as the face of the Golden Age Insurance Policy, headlining nationwide marketing and community engagement campaigns.

Mr. Annan Forson, affectionately known as “The Godfather of Radio,” brings nearly five decades of influence to the role. Since launching his career at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in 1977, he has helped shape Ghana’s commercial radio landscape through stints at Joy FM, collecting more than 32 industry and national accolades, including a Grand Medal of Honour.

“Tommy Annan Forson is more than a household name; he is part of the life story of Ghana’s Baby Boomer generation,” says Kobena Addison, Managing Director of QIC. “By joining forces with him, we are pairing trusted experience with an insurance product designed to keep the baby boomers mobile, engaged and optimistic about the years ahead.”

Designed for Ghanaians born between 1946 and 1970, Golden Age coverage stretches well beyond a conventional motor insurance package. Policyholders enjoy round the clock concierge assistance and receive a guaranteed courtesy car whenever their own vehicle is involved in an accident.

QIC further simplifies life for the insured by arranging at home medical laboratory tests and renewing policies automatically at expiry.

Those enrolled onto the policy are also provided with lessons, organised by QIC, to help turn long held hobbies into active retirement pursuits such as picking up a paintbrush, perfecting a piano sonata, diving back into swimming, or even saddling up for horse riding.

Mr. Annan Forson believes the Golden Age policy answers a genuine need.

“Our generation still has plenty of road ahead,” he says. “Golden Age isn’t just insurance; it’s a passport that lets us keep exploring, creating and contributing long after the formal workday ends. I’m happy and proud to lend my voice to a product that treats ageing as a new frontier, not a full stop.”

As brand ambassador, the veteran radio icon, will lend his credibility, face and voice to multimedia campaigns, road shows and interactive workshops demonstrating how the Golden Age Motor Insurance Policy, and a dash of curated adventure, can turn the next chapter of a baby boomer’s life into a fresh arena for achievement.

Enrollment for the Golden Age Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy is open nationwide through QIC branches, partner brokers and the company’s digital channels. Interested motorists can learn more, sign on and let QIC transform retirement passions into reality, while keeping them safely covered on Ghana’s roads.
