Gov’t to spend GHS 259bn from Consolidated Fund for 2024
Some GHS 259 billion is set to be spent from the Consolidated Fund for the 2024 fiscal year commencing January 1, 2024.
The GHS 259bn amount consists of some GHS 12.3bn allocated to Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Per the Appropriation Act, 2023, the GHS 259 billion allocation is necessary to meet Government expenditure and other public funds.
This follows the repeal of the Appropriation Act of 2022.
Per the new Act, The Controller and Accountant General may on a warrant issued by the Finance Minister pay out of the Consolidated Fund the allocated amount to MDAs and the Central Government.
