6 reasons Minority, Majority MPs want Finance Minister kicked out of office

In a shocking turn of events, about 80 MPs of the Majority Caucus in Parliament have called for the sacking of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The call for the sacking of the Finance Minister was made by the MP for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, during a press briefing on Tuesday morning, October 25, 2022.

The development comes amid a worsening economic downturn in the country as the Finance Minister looks to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a crucial bailout.

While the Majority MPs have failed to give specific reasons for which they want the Finance Minister out, the Minority Caucus in Parliament has provided six (6) reasons for which they want Mr Ofori-Atta out of office.

Speaking during a press briefing Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 2022, Ranking Member of the Finance Committee of Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson, mentioned deliberate and dishonest misreporting of economic data to Parliament, mismanagement of the economy, unconstitutional withdrawals from the consolidated fund, among others.

According to Mr Ato Forson, the following are the reasons for which they want the Finance Minister removed from office:
