GPL: Accra Lions brush aside Bibiani GoldStars FC to close in on top four
Accra Lions recorded a 2-0 win over Bibiani GoldStars FC to wrap up matchday-26 of the Ghana Premier League on Monday.
A goal in each half from Yahaya Mohammed and Kwame Awuni handed Lions the important win at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Mohammed opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a sleek finish before Awuni added the second, three minutes into the second half.
The win has lifted Accra Lions to 5th on the league table – but level on point with defending champions Medeama in fourth.
Ibrahim Tanko’s side responded well after their 2-0 defeat at struggling Heart of Lions, returning to winning ways in a sweet fashion.
The visitors remain 9th on 35 points.
