Medeama SC strike partnership deal with Fiase Golden Royal Ladies ahead of Champions League campaign
Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have entered into a partnership agreement with Fiase Golden Royal Ladies FC to become its official women’s team ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign.
The initiative follows CAF’s new eligibility requirement to empower women’s football on the continent.
The partnership deal allows the Yellow and Mauves to participate in next season’s CAF Champions League after winning the Ghana Premier League following the new eligibility requirements.
CAF advised its members to ensure they equally run a women’s football team in order to participate in CAF inter-club competitions even if they qualify through their local competition’s format.
The club will provide logistical and other assistance to the Western Region Division One Women’s League team.
“Medeama have announced a partnership agreement with Fiase Golden Royal Ladies FC as the official women’s team.
“The announcement represents another significant and exciting step forward in adopting a female football club as part of CAF’s growing effort of developing the game.
“The club will provide logistical and other support to the team in the Western Region Division One Women’s League,” a club statement read.
“Medeama is excited at the partnership with Fiase Golden Royal Ladies FC as we week to improving women’s football.”
