Ikenna Njubigbo Speaks on The Future of IT Solutions Delivery In Banking At The Connected Banking Summit 2025

Ikenna Njubigbo, Country Head of Technology, Digital Innovation, and Services at FirstBank Ghana, delivered an insightful keynote address at the 18th Edition of the Connected Banking Summit – Innovation & Excellence Awards 2025. The presentation, titled “The Future of IT Solutions Delivery in Banking: Driving Innovation, Agility, and Business Value,” emphasized the critical need for banks to adapt to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The event organized was by the International Center for Strategic Alliances (ICSA), this premier event brought together global executives, industry experts, and visionary leaders from the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The summit focused on key themes such as digital transformation, customer experience, regulatory compliance, and security, showcasing cutting-edge insights and fostering collaboration to address the evolving needs of West Africa’s financial landscape.

In his address, Njubigbo highlighted that today’s banking customers have elevated expectations, demanding personalized, seamless, and omni-channel experiences. “The customer is king (and queen!),” he stated, underscoring the imperative for banks to prioritize customer-centricity to thrive in the competitive financial services sector. He noted that statistics show a significant shift in customer behavior, with many customers willing to switch banks due to poor digital experiences.

Njubigbo articulated that adaptability is no longer optional, it is essential for survival. He explained, “the banking landscape is constantly evolving, driven by rapid technological advancements and changing customer behaviors. To meet these demands, banks must be adaptable.” He urged financial institutions to embrace agile methodologies as the engine of adaptability, enabling them to respond quickly to changes and deliver value to customers more frequently.

The presentation also delved into the transformative power of cloud computing, which Njubigbo described as the foundation for scalability in banking operations. “Cloud technology enhances flexibility and innovation, allowing banks to optimize resources and accelerate service delivery,” he noted. This capability is crucial for banks looking to remain competitive in a fast-paced digital environment.

Data-driven decision-making was another focal point of Njubigbo’s speech. He emphasized that leveraging real-time insights and predictive analytics is essential for understanding customer behavior and personalizing interactions. “In the future, customer-centricity will be driven by data. Banks must harness data analytics to anticipate customer needs and enhance engagement,” he asserted.

As the summit concluded, Njubigbo reminded attendees that the future of IT solutions delivery in banking is not a distant goal but a current reality. “Banks that embrace customer-centric adaptability will be the ones that thrive in the years to come. The journey to becoming a truly adaptable and customer-centric bank is continuous, and it starts now,” he concluded.

The Connected Banking Summit 2025 brought together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to discuss the future of banking in a digital world. Njubigbo’s insights reinforced FirstBank Ghana’s commitment to driving innovation and enhancing business value through technology.
