First Atlantic Bank Begins IPO Process to List on GSE Main Market
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has announced that First Atlantic Bank has commenced the process to list on its Main Market through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), after securing the required regulatory approvals.
The move positions First Atlantic Bank to become the first company to undertake an equities IPO on the GSE since 2018 — a development analysts say reflects renewed confidence in Ghana’s capital market and the Exchange’s capacity to mobilise long-term capital for corporate growth.
Abena Amoah, Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, described the bank’s step toward listing as a positive signal of market recovery.
“We are pleased to welcome First Atlantic Bank on its journey towards listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange. This important step underscores growing confidence in our market and reinforces our commitment to supporting institutions to raise capital. We congratulate the bank and all the advisors who worked tirelessly to bring this transaction to fruition,” she said.
The Exchange has in recent years intensified efforts to attract more listings as part of broader measures to deepen the market.
The GSE said it remains committed to supporting corporates seeking both short- and long-term financing solutions, and encouraged more companies to leverage the capital market for expansion and value creation.
