Thomas Partey Wins Men’s Player of the Year at Ghana Football Awards for Third Time

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been named the Men’s Footballer of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards for the third time in his career. The award was presented by Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, during a ceremony that celebrated the best in Ghanaian football.

Celebrating his 32nd birthday recently, Partey triumphed in a competitive field, fending off challenges from notable players, including his Black Stars teammate Antoine Semenyo. Semenyo had a standout season with AFC Bournemouth, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists, helping the Cherries achieve their highest-ever points total in the English Premier League.

In his own impressive season, Partey made a significant impact for Arsenal, playing 52 matches, scoring four goals, and assisting three others. His contributions helped the Gunners reach the UEFA Champions League semifinals for the first time since 2009 while finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive year.

As Partey celebrates this prestigious award, he is also in negotiations for a new contract with Arsenal, as his current deal expires at the end of the month.

Other winners at the Ghana Football Awards included Doris Boaduwaa, who was named Female Player of the Year, and Razak Simpson, who secured both the Home-Based Player of the Year Award and the Goal of the Season Award. Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi was honored as the Best African Footballer of the Year.

The event highlighted the achievements of Ghanaian footballers both domestically and internationally, with Partey’s recognition underscoring his continued excellence on the pitch.
