Black Stars to Assemble Squad in Morocco for World Cup Qualifier Against C.A.R with Key Player Returns
The Black Stars, is set to assemble in Casablanca, Morocco, for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Stars will open camp this weekend in Casablanca ahead of their penultimate Group I qualifier against the Central African Republic on October 8, 2025.
The technical staff, along with home-based players Benjamin Asare and Prince Owusu, will depart Accra on Saturday to join the rest of the squad. The team plans to hold three training sessions in Morocco, ensuring they are well-prepared for the match at Stade d’Honneur de Meknes. This gathering is pivotal as Ghana aims to solidify its position at the top of Group I, currently holding 19 points.
In a significant boost for the squad, the Black Stars will welcome back key players Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu. Similarly, Seidu returns after recovering from his own ACL injury incurred while playing for Rennes. He has already made three appearances for his club since regaining fitness, including a standout performance that earned him a Man of the Match award.
