FIFA WCQ: Nigeria requests 10,000 tickets from Ghana
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly requested for 10,000 tickets for their 2022 World Cup playoff clash with Ghana later this month.
According to sources at Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, they have received a letter requesting for match tickets from their Nigerian counterparts seeking to attend the first-leg match in Cape Coast.
Interestingly the venue for the game which is the Cape Coast Stadium in the Central Region of Ghana admits just 15,000 spectators, meaning the NFF are requesting for two thirds of the total tickets.
It is yet unknown if CAF will approve a full capacity attendance together with the government of Ghana and so it makes the request from Nigeria a bit unsettled

Even with a full capacity stadium, there must an allocation for sponsors and other partners which makes it impossible for the home side to get half of the tickets should there be a divide.
However FIFA regulations demand that the visiting team are given a sizable portion of the tickets but not half of it.
This means Nigeria will not even get 7,500 per the distribution of the tickets and could settle for between 2,000 to 5,000 tickets with the number they are to be given likely to be 3,000 tickets.
If this arrangement is agreed, the Nigerians are expected to reciprocate the gesture when the second leg match is played in Abuja.
The NFF have made advanced preparations ahead of the crucial encounter against Ghana later this month and it shows they are leaving no stones unturned ahead of the game.
Ghana hosts Nigeria on Friday March 25 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before traveling to Abuja for the second leg on Thursday, March 29 at the Mashood Abiola Stadium.
