A medical Practitioner has called on the regulatory authorities in the country to relocate the placement of the tax stamps affixed on can foods in the country.
According to him, many consumers find it very difficult to remove the tax stamps barcoded papers because of how it is affixed on their cans.
The medical Practitioner further added that due to the difficulty consumers face in removing the tax stamps, most consumers end up swallowing the barcoded paper in bits which is not good for their health.
In a statement, Dr. Daniel Apeemah said; “Ghana Standard Authority as well as FDA, you have made Malta Guinness Can 330ml unattractive for consumers. It’s not easy to safely remove that standardized label paper before drinking it. Most consumers end up swallowing the barcoded paper in bits. It’s about time we entreated you to do something about it ASAP!”
