Four (4) officers involved in the assault of Citi FM’s Caleb Kudah have been sanctioned by the Ministry of National Security.

The sanction follows the submission of a report by the Action Committee set up by the Ministry to investigate the assault on Mr Kudah.

The four indicted officers – Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman and three other police officers – have been relieved of their post and directed to report to their respective commands for further disciplinary actions against them.

Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman has been directed to report to the Chief of Defence Staff whereas the three police officers have been directed to report to the leadership of the Ghana Police Service.

Mr. Caleb Kudah was arrested and detained at the National Security Ministry for filming abandoned MASLOC vehicles parked at the premises of the Ministry.

He was at the Ministry to verify a claim by an official of MASLOC that all the cars had been given out.

A team of heavily-armed SWAT police officers was subsequently dispatched to arrest  Citi News‘ Zoe Abu-Baidoo Addo at the premises of Citi FM/Citi TV.

This is because Caleb had forwarded the footage he captured to Zoe via WhatsApp.

Mr. Caleb Kudah in an interview with Bernard Avle on Citi TV indicated that he was assaulted several times by officers of the National Security.

Following the revelation about his assault, civil society groups and political parties, have condemned the incident and backed calls for investigations, while calling for reforms in the national security setup.
