Second Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Elsie Addo Awadzi, has been recognized and duly honoured at the recently held Ghana Women of the Year Honours instituted by Glitz Africa.
Mrs Addo Awadzi on the night of the award scheme, was adjudged the Glitz Africa Corporate Personality of the Year for her immense contributions towards shaping economic management in Ghana, particularly in the areas of financial regulation and public financial management.
Making some remarks after being presented with the prestigious award, the Deputy Governor dedicated the award to her predecessor, Nana Oye Mansa Yeboaa, who served in the same position from 1989 to 1997.
“The only other woman who has had the privilege to serve in this role is Nana Oye Mansa Yeboaa who served from 1989 to 1997, today (September 26, 2020) happens to be her 82nd birthday and I want to honour and celebrate her and dedicate this award to all the women of Ghana, to the women at the Bank of Ghana, as well as to Nana Oye Mansa,” she stated.
The Ghana Women of the Year Honours is an award scheme instituted by Glitz Africa to celebrate women who use their expertise, position and influence to inspire others to make a difference in driving other women forward.
