MTN to obtain $1.8 billion from IHS Towers IPO

IHS Towers has announced that it will price its upcoming initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Exchange at $21 per share.

A share price of $21 gives the MTN Group which owns some 18 million shares in IHS Towers an implied value of $1.79 billion.

“The underwriters of the offering will also have a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2.7 million ordinary shares from IHS Towers at the IPO price, less the underwriting discount.

“The closing of the offering is expected to occur on Monday, 18 October 2021, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions. After the IPO, MTN will hold 85,176,719 ordinary shares from IHS Towers,” read the joint statement by MTN and IHS.
