Decline in benchmark GSE-CI continues; returns 47.29% to investors

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) decreased by 0.33 points to close trading at 2,859.80 points representing a YTD return of 47.29% for investors.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) on the other hand, continued to stay flat to close trading at 2,078.83 points also translating into a YTD return of 16.58%. 

Fan Milk PLC. (FML) was the only stock to record a price change as it lost GH¢0.03 to close trading at GH¢4.02 resulting in the market capitalization of the Accra bourse reducing by GH¢3.48 million to close at GH¢64.22 billion and representing a growth of 18.11% in 2021.

A total of 2,168,998 shares valued at GH¢2,876,642.24 was traded in nine (9)  equities, a steep increase compared to Wednesday’s volume of 442,373  shares valued at GH¢537,111.44. 

MTNGh recorded the largest share of trades, accounting for 85.5% and 95.4% of the total value and total volume traded respectively.
