MoTI dismiss allegation of missing GHS 270m under 1D1F
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) has dismissed allegations of some GHS 270 million missing under the One District One Factory (1D1F) flagship policy of government.
The dismissal of the allegation by the Ministry, comes after the Ranking Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, alleged the said amount could not be accounted for under the 1D1F initiative.
Reacting to the MP’s assertion in a press statement on Monday, December 20, 2021, the Ministry described the allegation as misleading and inaccurate.
“The Ministry wishes to state categorically that, the said statement attributed to the Ranking Member is not only misleading but totally inaccurate. The ministry, upon request by the Hon Ranking Member submitted full information on the application of the full amount of GHC 269 million allocated for interest subsidy payment for loan facilities granted by the selected participating Financial Institutions to de-risk loans to 1D1F companies.
“The Ministry wishes to use this opportunity to assure the private sector operators interested in the 1D1F initiative that, it will continue to provide support for their projects working in collaboration with the PFIs to sustain and increase the over 153,782 jobs created by1D1F companies across the country,” read parts f the statement.
