Stock market records 7 decliners over the week

Twenty-four equities traded over the week, ending with three gainers and seven decliners.

BOPP, ACCESS, and SIC were the gainers as they gained GH¢0.14, GH¢0.07, and GH¢0.02 to close trading at  GH¢6.48, GH¢3.70, and GH¢0.33 respectively.

EGH, MAC, and CAL lost  GH¢0.01 each to close trading at GH¢6.75, GH¢5.38, and GH¢0.74 respectively.

GCB, SCB, EGL, and GGBL lost GH¢0.05, GH¢0.06,GH¢0.10, and GH¢0.20 to close trading at GH¢4.00, GH¢20.24, GH¢3.20, and GH¢2.05 respectively.

As a result, market capitalization of the GSE decreased by GH¢81.47 million to close the trading week at GH¢64.40 billion. 

A total of 11,666,517 shares valued at GH¢12,084,263.04 were traded during the week.

Compared with the previous trading week, this week’s data shows a 284.92% increase in volume traded and a 59.17% increase in trade turnover.

Scancom PLC. accounted for 66.11% of the total value  traded and recorded the most volumes traded.

Meanwhile, market activity for the week declined by 8.49 points to close at 2,499.90 points translating into a YTD return of -10.38%.

The GSE Financial Stock  Index (GSE-FSI) also lost 5.52 points to close at 2,078.85 points translating into a YTD return of -3.65%.
