AFCON 2023 Diaries: Mohammed Kudus to join Black Stars trip to Cote D’Ivoire on Wednesday
West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus is in Ghana but won’t report to the Black Stars camp in Kumasi ahead of the 2023 AFCON.
However, the 23 year old player is expected to join the team’s trip to Cote D’Ivoire on Wednesday, January 10 from Accra.
He will miss Ghana’s friendly game tonight at 8pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium against Namibia who are also participating in the AFCON.
Kudus’ arrival in Ghana was confirmed by Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum with rumours swirling over a potential absence of Kudus in the tournament that runs from January 13 to February 11.
Former Ajax Amsterdam player, Kudus, has missed the Black Stars training camp due to a “slight injury” as reported by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton when announcing his 27 man squad for the 2023 AFCON.
