AFCON 2025 Q: Sudan bag Only Victory in Wednesday’s List of Qualifiers

Sudan were the only winners during the first batch of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this week following their 1-0 victory against Niger in Group F at the Juba Stadium on Wednesday night.

In a match where little separated Sudan and Niger in Juba, Abo Eisa’s 51st minute strike was enough for Falcons of Jediane to bag maximum points on home soil.

Elsewhere, Comoros and Gambia settled for a 1-1 draw in their respective Group A fixture that took place at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium in Morocco.

Comoros star Youssouf M’Changama put his side ahead in the 37th minute, while Al Taawoun attacker Musa Barrow levelled the scoreline moments before the break.

In another stalemate played out this week, Tanzania and Ethiopia jotted down a 0-0 draw at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in their first Group F encounter.

Neither side were able to produce any notable scoring opportunities throughout the 90 minutes and appeared to have shook hands at the idea of sharing the point count minutes before the final whistle was blown.
