AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: We Are Ready For Niger, Says Otto Addo
Black Stars coach Otto Addo is confident his team will bounce back with a victory against Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat to Angola at home in their previous match on Thursday in Kumasi but are gearing up for their second game against the Ménas which takes place on Monday.
According to Otto Addo, despite the demoralised atmosphere in camp after the defeat, his players have bounced back psychologically and have trained well for the game.
“It was a really, unlucky game, and this positive sign gave me confidence, and this is the confidence I was trying to give to the team in the last days, and I think it worked quite well,” he said.
“The guys looked good at the training, and surely there were some things defensive-wise but also offensive-wise which we had to work on. We tried to implement it in our training as far as we could. Surely not all of them could do everything because of the recovery after the game, but at the end of the day, now I think we are ready for tomorrow.”
The Black Stars will aim for their first win of the season with injury concerns as Joseph Paintsil and Jerome Opoku have both pulled out due to passport issues and injury concerns.
The much-anticipated game will take place at the Stade de Municipal de Berkane.
