AfriMass Network & Bluecrest University College Unite for 2nd Edition of Newsroom Business Initiative on World Press Freedom Day

AfriMass Network is excited to announce its partnership with Bluecrest University College to host the second edition of Newsroom Business Initiative – sustainable newsroom in celebration of World Press Freedom Day 2025. Following the success of last year’s inaugural event at GH Media School, this year’s celebration promises to build on the momentum and highlight the ongoing importance of press freedom in shaping democratic societies.

The first edition of World Press Freedom Day, organized by AfriMass Network and partners, was a memorable occasion that brought together key figures in the media industry. The event featured prominent personalities such as Kobby Spiky Nkrumah of EIB Digital, Paa Kwesi Asare of TV3, and Emefa Apawu of JoyNews. Their presence underscored the significance of a free and independent press and provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of journalists in Ghana.

This year, AfriMass Network has once again teamed up with Bluecrest University College to create a platform for media professionals, students, and advocates of press freedom to come together. The theme for this year’s World Press Freedom Day is “Freedom of Expression in the Face of the AI Revolution” this one-day signature event will explore the future of journalism, the transformative power of AI in media, and the intersection between technology and press freedom. Participants will engage with industry experts, media professionals, and policymakers to discuss the evolving media landscape in the digital age.

The event will feature a variety of panel discussions with distinguished media experts, offering a chance to reflect on the role of AI in shaping the future of journalism.

Topics will include how AI is being used in newsrooms to automate content, the potential of AI to improve fact-checking, the challenges of AI-driven journalism, and the ethical dilemmas it poses in terms of authenticity and accountability. There will also be opportunities for media professionals to enhance their skills through workshops and training sessions, along with networking opportunities for all attendees.

AfriMass Network remains committed to supporting press freedom and empowering journalists through various initiatives, such as this partnership with Bluecrest University College. By organizing events like World Press Freedom Day, AfriMass aims to foster a media environment where professionalism, integrity, and independence are at the forefront.
