AngloGold Ashanti launches Remote Operations Centre
AngloGold Ashanti in collaboration with specialized systems integrator, Ramjack Technology Solutions (RAMJACK), has launched a Remote Operations Centre.
The program has been specifically designed to target Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements by incorporating a process and data driven knowledge model transfer, both on site and remote service to the mine.
The program also include a 24/7 data analysis and operational support to amplify real time decision at the operation driven by a combination of data analytics, system optimisation and mine operation expertise.
“Effective use of real-time production and safety systems is a critical component to operational excellence in the mining industry,” said Mike Jackson, President of Ramjack.
“Having worked with the forward-thinking team at AGA for many years, we are honoured to help bring this next level of efficiency to Iduapriem Mine, and we look forward to continued collaboration with AGA towards achieving optimal performance from their technology solutions,” he added.
The programme is also designed to optimise the performance of the mining fleet through the use of a networked organisation and real time data generated by the Fleet Management system at AGA’s Iduapriem mine in Tarkwa, Ghana.
The programme makes use of Ramjack’s Remote Operations Center (rROC) in Johannesburg. The program also holds an emphasis on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Iduapriem has experienced notable improvements in availability, utilization and operational efficiency since the implementation of the program three months ago.
Further improvements are anticipated as additional insights, and system optimization opportunities become available.
