Ansu Fati and Vinicius: Which youngster will shine in the El Classico on Sunday ?

In such a historic fixture like the El Classico, so many questions can be asked.

Who will score the first goal? Who will star as the man of the match? Which side will win? These are some questions that the ordinary football lover or fan will be asking in their hearts and minds.

Some historic players have over the years shined in these encounters, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul Gonzalez, but this time, a new group of youngsters are about to feature.

At the moment, Real Madrid’s No.20, and Barcelona’s No.10 are the two jersey numbers that standout.

With Barcelona set to take on Real Madrid at the Camp Nou on Sunday, October 24, we assess the differences between two of the sides’ young stars.

Barcelona’s Ansu Fati has a much higher scoring rate than his Brazilian counterpart, with an average of 0.38 goals per game compared with Vinicius’s 0.14.

To date, Vinicius is the player subject to more fouls than his opponent, but both forwards are likely to receive some rough treatment when they encounter each other on Sunday.

It would be harsh to compare the two players’ seasons so far considering Fati just recovered from a long term injury.

However, the youngster has been in blistering form, scoring on his return to the action against Levante.

In three appearances this LaLiga Santander season, Fati has scored two goals,

Vinicius Junior on the other hand has found the net five times in eight league matches.

Ansu Fati’s first El Classico goal was scored on 24th October 2020 at the Camp Nou and it raises a lot of optimism in the camp of most Barcelona fans as they feel the youngster can score again if destiny has any role to play.

Vinicius Junior’s scored his first Classico goal on 1st March 2020 in the 2-0 win against their eternal rivals at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Will destiny have a role to play come Sunday or the individual brilliance of these two superb youngsters will carry the day, only time will tell.
