Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Dies at 77
The Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Mission have announced the death of Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, a pioneering figure in Ghana’s technological and industrial landscape.
He passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, according to an official statement.
“With profound sorrow and deepest grief, the Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Church announce the peaceful passing of Ghana’s beloved man of God, the greatest technological icon, philanthropist, agriculturalist and industrialist,” the statement read.
Apostle Safo, often hailed as the Star of Africa, was widely revered as a religious leader, innovator, philanthropist and industrialist. Through his Kantanka Group of Companies, he spearheaded efforts to advance indigenous automotive and technology manufacturing in Ghana, leaving an enduring mark on the country’s industrial aspirations.
He was equally celebrated for his philanthropic endeavours, providing support for the underprivileged, and for promoting agriculture and community development. The family described him as a “true genius, a beacon of hope for many, and a father to the fatherless.”
The statement, signed by his daughter and former Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, indicated that funeral arrangements will be announced in due course. The family has also appealed for privacy as they mourn their patriarch.
