Asante Kotoko to Face Kaizer Chiefs in 2025 Toyota Cup

Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s premier football clubs, has officially accepted an invitation to compete in the 2025 Toyota Cup, where they will take on South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs. The match is scheduled for July 28, 2025, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

This friendly encounter is not only a prestigious opportunity for the Porcupine Warriors but also serves as part of their preparations for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup, a tournament they qualified for after winning the MTN FA Cup.

In a statement released on their official website, the club expressed enthusiasm about the match, highlighting its significance: “Asante Kotoko SC is pleased to confirm that we have accepted an invitation to play in this year’s Toyota Cup, where we will face Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa in an international friendly. This game is an important step in strengthening the long-standing relationship between two of the continent’s biggest clubs.”

The club emphasized that the experience gained from facing a formidable opponent like Kaizer Chiefs will be invaluable as they gear up for their CAF campaign. “It will give our team valuable international experience as we build towards a strong campaign in Africa,” the statement added.

Before their trip to South Africa, Asante Kotoko will face off against rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup, adding further competitive action to their schedule.
