Asante Gold Reports Strong Exploration Results at Bibiani and Chirano Mines
Ghana-focused gold producer Asante Gold Corporation has reported encouraging exploration results from its Bibiani and Chirano gold mines for the year-to-date 2025, underscoring potential for resource growth and mine life extension across both operations.
In a statement, the company said exploration activities at Chirano have continued to yield “highly encouraging results,” particularly in areas extending beyond current reserve and resource envelopes. Significant drilling progress was recorded at Obra Underground, Suraw Underground, and Sariehu, where mineralized intersections support the potential for extending mine life.
A total of 126 holes, representing 13,561 metres of drilling, has been completed year-to-date at Chirano — constituting 43% of the company’s planned 2025 drilling program.
At Bibiani, exploration efforts have concentrated on following up on greenfield targets identified in 2024 and testing brownfield targets adjacent to current mining areas. Geophysical and geochemical surveys conducted last year defined several targets for further investigation in 2025, supported by rock chip sampling, mapping, and reverse circulation (RC) drilling.
As of September 2025, a total of 126 holes, amounting to 19,271 metres (RC – 16,639m; DD – 2,632m), have been completed — representing 63% of Bibiani’s annual drilling target.
Commenting on the update, Dave Anthony, Chief Executive Officer of Asante, said the company’s US$500 million financing initiative, completed in August 2025, has significantly strengthened its exploration capacity.
“More than US$9 million of this financing has been allocated to each of Chirano and Bibiani to accelerate near-mine exploration and support long-term planning of mining activities and gold production,” he stated.
Anthony added that the latest drilling results “reaffirm the potential for resource growth and mine life extension” at both operations.
“With drilling at Obra confirming the extension of a mineralized shoot and its structural connection to the Sariehu deposit at depth, we are encouraged to advance our efforts at Chirano,” he said, noting that updated NI 43-101 Technical Reports for both mines are scheduled for release in April 2026.
Asante Gold remains focused on expanding its operational footprint in Ghana while enhancing shareholder value through sustained exploration and disciplined capital deployment.
