GSE: SIC gains for second consecutive day; CAL Bank falls by 3.53%

GSE: SIC gains for second consecutive day; CAL Bank falls by 3.53%

SIC Insurance Company (SIC) was once again the sole gainer at the  close of trading as its price appreciated by GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.13 translating into a 62.50% YTD return.

This is in contrast to CAL Bank (CAL) which lost GH¢0.03 to close at GH¢0.82 translating into a -5.75% YTD return.

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) lost 1.61 points to close at  2,694.61 on the fourth trading day of the week representing a YTD return  of -3.40%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also lost 2.93 points to close trading at 2,115.62 translating into a YTD return of -1.68%.

Market capitalization thus reduced by GH¢510.28 million to close at  GH¢62.86 billion representing a YTD decline of -2.53% in 2022. 

A total of 862,593 shares valued at GH¢251,322.65 were traded in twelve  equities (12) compared to 3,192,585 shares valued at GH¢725,353.36 which changed hands the previous day.

CAL at close of market traded the most, accounting for 63.05% of the total value traded.
