Hamilton Disappointed with P6 Finish in Barcelona After Challenging Weekend
Lewis Hamilton expressed frustration following a tough race at the Spanish Grand Prix, where he finished sixth, four places behind his teammate Charles Leclerc. Although Hamilton’s position was upgraded from seventh due to Max Verstappen’s penalty, it was still a disappointing outcome for the seven-time champion.
Starting from fifth on the grid, Hamilton had hoped to challenge for a podium finish, especially after overtaking George Russell at the start. However, his race quickly unraveled as he struggled with pace, leading to an early driver swap with Russell on Lap 10, despite both being on different strategies.
“My balance felt off throughout the race, and we lacked pace from the start,” Hamilton lamented. “I felt good going into the race, but it didn’t translate to performance on the track.”
Hamilton faced further challenges during the race, notably being outpaced by Nico Hulkenberg’s Kick Sauber at the Safety Car restart. While he managed to secure sixth place at the finish, the performance left him feeling disheartened.
“I just didn’t have any speed at the end,” he admitted. “I learned absolutely nothing from this triple header, which is frustrating.”
Looking ahead, Hamilton will turn his attention to the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, a track where he has historically excelled, boasting seven victories in Montreal.
