Bank of Ghana Sets Gold Coin Price at GHS 39,273 Per Ounce
The Bank of Ghana on Thursday set the price of its one-ounce gold coin at GHS 39,273.60, reflecting movements in global bullion benchmarks and the cedi–dollar exchange rate.
Half-ounce and quarter-ounce coins were priced at GHS 19,985.24 and GHS 10,363.84 respectively, according to the central bank’s daily bulletin.
The pricing was based on the London Bullion Market Association’s (LBMA) previous day’s PM fix of $3,376.35 per ounce and Bloomberg’s cedi–dollar rate of 11.1500.
The gold coin programme, launched in 2021, forms part of the Bank of Ghana’s strategy to promote domestic gold value addition, diversify reserves and offer investors a hedge against currency volatility.
