Bank of Ghana Sets Gold Coin Prices as Bullion Nears $3,400 Mark
The Bank of Ghana has released updated pricing for its gold coins as of Monday, July 14, 2025, with the 1.00 oz coin set at GH₵36,446.55, reflecting the ongoing strength in global gold markets and the relative stability of the cedi.
According to official data, the 0.50 oz and 0.25 oz denominations are priced at GH₵18,560.38 and GH₵9,638.58, respectively.
The valuations are based on the London Bullion Market Association’s (LBMA) PM gold price from the previous trading day, which stood at $3,352.10 per ounce – one of the highest levels in recent years – as investors continue to seek safe-haven assets amid global macroeconomic uncertainty.
The exchange rate used for the conversion, according to Bloomberg, was USD/GHS 10.40 as of the prior close.
The Bank of Ghana introduced the gold coin programme as part of broader efforts to deepen the domestic gold market and promote wealth preservation through alternative assets.
