Benchmark index closes at 2,475 points; records no gains

The benchmark index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) – GSE-CI – recorded no change in the prices of listed equities on Thursday, August 11, 2022.

The benchmark index ended flat to close at close at the same mark as it opened at 2,475.59 points  representing a YTD return of -11.25%.

The GSE Financial Stock  Index (GSE-FSI) also maintained its value to close trading at  2,080.94 points translating into a YTD return of -3.30%. 

Some 10 equities traded on the market on Thursday, ending with no gainer nor decliner as market capitalization for the day settled at GH¢ 63.92 billion. 

A total of 123,228 shares valued at GH¢104,837.77 was traded on the day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day, August 10, Thursday’s data shows a 96.20% decline in volume traded and 99.02% decline in trade turnover.

Meanwhile, Cal Bank (CAL) accounted  for 63.04% of the total value traded and recorded the largest  volumes traded.
