betPawa GPL: Aduana extend lead at the top; Kotoko drop points at Nsoatreman

Aduana Stars produced an excellent performance as they recorded a commanding 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in a top-of-the-table clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Forward Isaac Mintah was the hero of the day, scoring both goals in the second half to give his team all three points.

Aduana Stars put in a brilliant performance that saw them dominate possession and create more chances than their opponents. Hearts of Oak had hoped to close the gap at the top to just one point with a win, but Aduana’s solid defence and clinical finishing proved too much for them.

Isaac Mintah’s first goal came just two minutes after the halftime break, setting the tone for the second half. He then added a second in the 64th minute to put the game beyond Hearts of Oak’s reach.

The win takes Aduana Stars seven points clear at the top of the league table, establishing themselves as strong title contenders. Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will be disappointed with the result, as they now find themselves trailing Aduana by seven points.

Reigning league champions Asante Kotoko’s poor away form was laid bare once again on Saturday as they were held to a scoreless draw by Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Amoah Koramansah II Park.

Ghana’s 2026 Budget: From Recovery to Reset?

The Porcupine Warriors headed into the game on the back off a loss to Dreams FC last Sunday and had not won an away game in their previous six attempts.

Nsoatreman, who were upbeat despite Kotoko’s high profile, performed better than their opponents, who were missing a few first team players who are nursing injuries.

In their quest to maintain and even improve their home form, Nsoatreman threatened to find the winner, but the visitors were determined to avoid another defeat that will dent their quest to retain the title they won last season.

Elsewhere Medeama SC continued their great run with Nurudeen Abdulai and  Joshua Agyemang scoring to power Medeama SC to a 2-0 win at Akoon Park on Friday to move to seventh on the league log.

Accra Lions and bottom-placed Kotoku Royals played to a goalless draw as well in the second fixture of Saturday.

Bechem United were 3-0 winners at home when they hosted Great Olympics. Abdul Karim’s first half goal and Hafiz Konkoni’s second half brace sealed all three points for the hosts.

Dreams FC edged past Bibiani Gold Stars at home with a second half Agyenim Mensah goal that secured all three points for the hosts.

King Faisal hosted Berekum Chelsea at their new venue but tasted defeat as the away side snatched all three points. Mezack Afriyie’s goal was enough to seal the win for Chelsea who move up the league log.

Samartex put three goals past the traveling Real Tamale United in a convincing win at home. Emmanuel Keyekeh scored a brace with Isaac Afful sealing the victory in stoppage time.

Elsewhere Isaac Mensah’s 79th minute penalty ensured Tamale City were winners at home when they hosted Karela United.
